Patrick A. Sanzari

Patrick Alfred Sanzari, our cherished Father, Pop Pop, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81 on April 23rd, 2024, after battling several illnesses. He was in the care of Hospice and surrounded by his loving family. Patrick is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris (née Marki) Sanzari, and his parents, Pasquale & Concetta Sanzari (née Zisa). He is survived by his son, Patrick Alan Sanzari (Jenny), his daughter Nicole Glazer (George), and his granddaughters Ashley and her husband Adam, Samantha, Hope & Gabriella. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Lu McPheron (Philip), his brothers Joseph Sanzari (Denise), Michael Sanzari (Cheryl), and several nephews and nieces: Michael, Jonathan, Sierra, Michelle, Cathy, Amy, Heather, and Alicia, along with their children. Patrick grew up in Hackensack, NJ, first residing on Lodi Street and then moving to a newly built house in the Hill section of Hackensack in 1952. He grew up with 14 sets of Aunts and Uncles, along with 52 first cousins from the Sanzari and Zisa sides of the family. He graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Engineering. After college, he began his career in engineering and construction at his uncle's firm. While working, he earned his MBA. He met and married his beautiful wife Doris in 1966 and started their family in Montvale, NJ before settling down in Chestnut Ridge, NY in 1972. They were married for 46 years until her passing in 2012. He was a devoted husband, father, and Pop Pop who worked tirelessly to care for and support his family. His love for his family was evident and everlasting. Patrick and Doris were avid skiers and traveled the world including places like Switzerland, Italy, Namibia, Russia, Germany, England, and Greece. In his later years, after his wife passed, he regularly enjoyed attending the annual Indianapolis 500 race with his cousin David and many extended family members. Patrick was the well-respected founder, broker/owner of Tudor Realty Inc. in Woodcliff Lake, NJ for the past 50 years. For 35 of those years, he proudly worked alongside his son Patrick Jr. He was known for his professionalism, integrity and knowledge in the field. He developed lifelong working and personal relationships with many builders and other real estate professionals. In his spare time, Patrick enjoyed playing cards with friends, whether it was a casual evening of Jass, a popular Swiss card game, with his wife or with the “Swissies” or a competitive round of poker, Patrick enjoyed the competition and cherished the camara-derie shared around the table. Patrick will be remembered by everyone he met and got to know as a kind, welcoming, funny, warm, loving and generous person who was devoted to his family. Visitation will be at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Monday April 29th from 3-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at 120 Kings Hwy, Tappan, NY on Tuesday April 30th at 11:30am. A burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY.
