Rae Ann Wills

Rae Ann Lovelace was born June 20, 1966, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. She was the daughter of the late Hilda Lovelace and the late Lenox Renaud. Rae Ann was the beloved wife of Trevor Wills and the devoted mother of Trevor Wills Jr. She was also the mother of the late Anastasia Lovelace. She is survived by her siblings: Stacey Christie; Nicole Lovelace-Altidor; Natalie Carrington; Sheldon Lovelace; Danica Lovelace; Anthony Lovelace; Julie Mellony; Allison Renaud; Camille Renaud; and Warren Renaud. She was preceded in death by her brothers Wendell and Ricardo. Rae Ann was a loving aunt to Mark-Anthony and Joshua Lovelace; Arden Thomas; Hans Altidor; Nicholas Alibey; Nia Carrington; Luke and Elijah Christie; and Amelio, Sabielle, Dominique and Michael. She was the great-aunt of Roman Christie. She is also remembered by her brother-in-law Kirt Wills and Neil Carrington, and by her mother-in-law Hermina Wills. Her close friends and sisters-in-spirit included Jean Simon, Michele Horton, Jenny John, Sharon Davis, Kerly Benjamin, Patty Orlak, Stacy Desir, and Lesline Mullings. Maggie Rene, Vivette Hamilton-Barrett, Donna White, and Madelie Andre, Joanne Duvalsaint, Lakendra Lowery and Jeanine Cruz Hernandez—also held a special place in her life. Rae Ann emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago in July 1996. She built meaningful personal and professional relationships and was known for her enthusiastic, “be there” spirit—she never wanted to miss out. Whether it was Carnival, concerts, basketball games, a girls’ trip to Jamaica or New Orleans, or a quick run to Trinidad for doubles, Rae Ann was always part of the fun. She even hopped on a train to Maryland to be by her sister’s side while she recovered from knee surgery. Above all, Rae Ann was about family: she hosted holidays—Christmas and Thanksgiving—summer backyard BBQs and frequent gatherings for friends and relatives. Her compassion shaped the family. Rae Ann served Montefiore Nyack Hospital for over 25 years, passing away in Nyack surrounded by her immediate family and her hospital family. Beloved across every department—nurses, physicians, environmental services, security, administrators, and volunteers—she made the hospital a better place by her presence. Known for unwavering kindness, Rae Ann celebrated coworkers’ milestones, supported those in need, and treated every patient like family. Her compassionate spirit shaped the hospital’s culture of care and will be deeply missed by colleagues, patients, and all who knew her. Her memory will remain in the hallways she walked. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2026 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 16 Jefferson Street, Nyack, NY, 10960 at 10:00 am.
